The BEYOND EPIC Championship starts today, June 15th, remotely (online). It will be a total of 12 participants, where only 10 received direct invitations and two had to go through the qualification rounds to participate in the event. The event award will be US$ 200,000.

As announced, there will be 12 teams from Europe and the CIS. All clubs were divided into two groups, where disputes will be in MD3 format.  After the results of the first disputes, four teams will leave the championship and the best four will face each other in the playoffs;

Clubs belonging to Group A:

Natus Vincere;
OG;
Nigma;
Team Secret;
Team Unique;
Vikin.gg;

Clubs belonging to Group B:

Alliance;
FlyToMoon;
Ninjas in Pyjamas;
Empire Hope;
Team Liquid;
Virtus.pro;

The playoffs will be held in double bracket, with matches having up to two wins, only the final will be played in MD5 format.

Although the championship has not yet started, the public has already decided that the favorite team is Team Secret, a club that managed to be featured in five championships in this quarantine time, being DreamLegue Season 13 champion.

In the same way, the OG and Alliance clubs are others that are adored by the public, the teams managed to reach the finals of BLAST Bounty Hunt and ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Europe & CIS.

The two teams that got the spot competing in the qualifiers were: Team Unique and Team Empire. It is worth mentioning that this is the first championship that Team Empire was scheduled to participate in, even though they do not have great experience in larger championships in the competitive scenario of DOTA 2.

On the other hand, Team Unique participated in the ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Europe & CIS, where they won against the beloved Team Secret.  However, the team ranked 11th and 12th on the table.

Other teams that remain are: Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas that do not present great stability in their disputes, being considered worrying teams, because as soon as they win a game, they immediately lose another one, as well as Virtus.pro. But Virtus.pro had paused in its disputes so that they could put things back in order, on their way to return reinvigorated and in full swing.

Now we have to wait and see how these teams will behave during the BEYOND EPIC Championship.
