Internacional Independiente Santa Fe betting prediction

Betting suggestion:

We expect a hard and balanced match, however, Inter is not as well organized as Santa Fe, despite the overall better player quality. But this 2nd leg match is in the Beira Rio, home of Inter, which means things will be different from the 1st leg. Therefore, we expect Inter to win, but are not so sure as to if they will qualify for the next round.

Analysis Internacional

After a memorable qualification against Atlético in Libertadores, in which they were superior both in the home and in the away match, and after winning in the first round of the Brazilian Championship, Inter have had a couple of bad results. First in the Libertadores and then in the National Championship, in which they tied against Vasco with a 1-1 final score. This draw may eventually be considered an acceptable result, since it was an away match, but in the lost against Santa Fe in Colombia the team was slow and predictable, which is worrying for this 2nd leg match.

In the first leg Inter was pressured by Santa Fe in the beginning, but then reacted and balanced the match and gain more ball possession, besides creating a few goal opportunities. Nevertheless, Santa Fe had the best goal opportunities.

In the second half Inter had a good start, but then gradually lost momentum, after Nilmar missed a great opportunity. Physically they were much inferior, which allowed Santa Fe to take over and take advantage of their biggest strength: step pieces. This strategy produced good results for the Colombian team, since they managed to score a goal near the end, precisely through a set piece.

In this 2nd leg match, inter is likely to use speed to surprise Santa Fe in their stadium to try and qualify.

Confirmed Lineup: Alisson, William, Geferson, Ernando, Juan, Rodrigo Dourado, Andres D'Alessandro, Charles Aránguiz, Nilmar, Lisandro López, Eduardo Sasha.

Analysis Santa Fe

Santa Fe is totally focused on the Libertadores and has forgotten about the national league. They expect to do well in this 2nd leg match and are investing everything in this competition.

After a good start in the national competition, Santa Fe has had a few negative results lately. When things in the Libertadores got more serious, they focused on this competition and register 1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses in the last 6 national league rounds. However, in the continental competition they have done well.

They eliminated Estudiantes, recovering from a 1st leg negative result and using the home advantage in their favour. Now, against Inter, they had a good 1st leg and got the win, but most importantly, they didn’t concede any goals in the home match, therefore, the team strategy for this 2nd leg is obvious. Once again they will try to take advantage of their strength: set pieces. If they manage to score they are very loikely to ensure qualification, since Inter would have to score 3 goals to recover.

Confirmed Lineup: Leandro Castellanos, Yulian Anchico, Dairon Mosquera, Yerry Mina, Francisco Meza, Daniel Torres, Juan Daniel Roa, Omar Perez, Luis Manuel Seijas, Luis Páez Restrepo, Wilson Morelo.
