The Game of Poker is one of the most popular card games in the world, and this is due to the fact that it has a wide variety of ways in which its played. Some variants are very easy to learn, thus conquering thousands of new fans every year.

In this article today we’ll show you some of the main poker variants:

- Texas Hold'Em:

This is the most popular variant of poker, it is the form in which world tournaments and Las Vegas matches are played, moreover, it is also always present in other major tournaments.

The game has easy and easy to understand rules and, as such, many different tactics and strategies can be created. The main goal of the player is to win the chips or money wagered by the players, what is called a pot.

Texas Hold'em is usually played between two to ten people, using a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives two cards, which will be face down. The dealer is responsible for dealing the other five cards (called the "board"), which will be shared with all the other players at the table.

Of the five cards shared, only a series of three cards are opened at the first moment, what we call "flop". Right after the fourth card is inserted on the table, which is known as the "turn" and finally the last card, which is called "River".

After the last community card is opened on the table, players go to what we call “Showdown”, showing their two closed cards. The player who gets the best combination with five cards wins the hand and takes all the chips in the pot.

The "Showdown" may or may not happen, because some players may give up their hand during the distribution of the community cards leading to the "River". In this way, the player takes the "pot" and can choose not to reveal his cards.

Texas Hold'Em bets are placed at the beginning of each round and can be played in either No-Limit or Fixed-Limit style, the difference will be in the amount of chips that the players can bet on their turn.

- Omaha:

Omaha is a variant of Texas Hold'Em, but with some differences. And like Texas, it is usually practiced by two to ten people.

It also has four rounds of betting, but with some changes, players receive four cards in the hand and need to play their game with two combined with the three cards that are turned over on the table.

- Seven Card Stud (Razz):

Seven Card Stud has some differences, and is usually played with Fixed-Limit.

Each player will receive seven cards and no longer have community cards on the table. At the start of the game, each player receives three cards, two closed and one open. Whoever starts with the open card of lowest value is forced to place the bet (Bring In).

Afterwards each player receives three more cards, interspersed by a round of betting. In these rounds the one to start the betting will be the one who has the highest hand counting only the open cards.

Before the last round, each game will receive the last card dealt before they drop their hands. The player with the best five-card game wins the pot. Because the game is "low" the best possible hand is a straight from Ace to five.

- Crazy Pineaple:

Its first participation in the BSOP Millions grid was in 2015, so it is considered a new style. It is a variant of Hold'Em, but as the name itself says it unfolds in a crazy way. Each player receives three cards and on the flop, each player discards a card and from then on the game continues as normal.

- Five Card Draw:

This mode is simpler, each player receives five hole cards, and then the round of betting takes place. After the bets, the players, if they wish, can exchange a card. Whoever has the best hand wins the pot.

Card Draw also has other game variants, such as: Triple Draw 2-7, Lowball and Single Draw 2-7 Lowball.

- Courchevel:

This is a newer variant, it started to be practiced in BSOP recently. However, it is a game that has attracted the eyes of many players, as it is a variant that provides a lot of action.

Each player has five hole cards dealt in hand, and only one card is revealed on the table, even before the first round. In the second round, the last two cards of the flop are opened. The turn and river are the same in Omaha and Texas Hold'Em.
